We’re thrilled you’re joining us on this exciting journey to test the latest versions of MyWhoosh on Apple TV and the MyWhoosh Link App. This beta program is a unique opportunity to experience our newest features before they go live and play a critical role in the development process. Getting Started on Your Beta Journey
- New MyWhoosh Account Required: For the duration of the Apple TV Beta Test, please create a new MyWhoosh account. Your existing login credentials will not work for this test. This account is exclusively for the Apple TV beta. Continue to use your main account once the test is over, or for riding on MyWhoosh using other devices. The progress and data from this beta period will not transfer to your main account.
- For Apple TV Beta
- Download TestFlight: Install TestFlight on an iOS or iPadOS device and on your Apple TV, ensuring you are signed in to the same App Store account
- Get the AppleTV Beta: Tap on this public beta link from your Mac, iPhone, or iPad and dive into the enhanced MyWhoosh indoor cycling app experience.
- Tap “Accept” for the MyWhoosh app to initiate the testing process.
- On your Apple TV, launch TestFlight and sign in with the same App Store account used on your iOS or iPadOS device.
- Locate the MyWhoosh app within TestFlight on your Apple TV and proceed to install it
- For Link App Beta
- Link App Android: Version 1.0.0 – Available on Google Play, this will only work with the AppleTV Beta
- Link App iOS: Version 1.0.2 – Available on TestFlight, , this will only work with the AppleTV Beta
- Device Pairing: Ensure your device (where the Link App is installed) and your Apple TV (with the MyWhoosh app) are on the same WiFi network for successful pairing.
- Engage with Features: Explore everything the Link App has to offer, from the home screen’s event descriptions to messaging, friends, planning events, and more
Pre-Requisites
To join the beta program, you’ll need one of the following devices:
- iPhone, iPad, or Mac for the Apple TV build and Link App iOS version.
- Android device for the Link App Android version.
Please note, the beta links will not function on incompatible devices.
Features of the Link App
- Home Screen: Dive into our next premium event, connect with friends, and plan your activities.
- Comprehensive Communication Tools: Stay in touch and plan rides with messages and friend suggestions.
- Event Planning: Never miss a ride with easy access to premium events and workouts.
- Seamless Settings: Tailor your experience with personalized settings, ensuring your rides are perfectly tuned to your preferences.
Connecting Your Devices
To ensure a smooth and integrated experience between your devices and the MyWhoosh apps, follow these steps:
1. Connecting via MyWhoosh Link App:
- First launch the MyWhoosh Link App: Ensure your smart hardware is ready to connect.
- Connect the hardware to MyWhoosh Link App: Follow the in-app instructions to establish a connection.
- Then launch the MyWhoosh main app on Apple TV: After your hardware is connected via the Link App, open the main app to sync everything together.
2. Connecting without Link App:
- Simply launch the MyWhoosh app on Apple TV and connect your devices directly through the app.
Points to Note:
- Network Consistency: Both your phone (or other devices) and Apple TV must be on the same network for a successful connection.
- MyWhoosh ID Synchronization: Ensure both devices use the same MyWhoosh ID to enable seamless integration and experience
- Reason for Procedure: Apple TV supports a limited number of direct device connections (max 3), making the MyWhoosh Link App an essential tool for expanding and enhancing your setup.
On the Radar – Known Issues
As we launch the Beta Program for MyWhoosh on Apple TV and the MyWhoosh Link App, we aim for transparency and open communication with our community. Below are some known issues we’ve identified with the current beta builds. Your understanding and feedback on these matters are highly appreciated, as they are crucial for us to improve the experience.
- Navigation Challenges: Users may find that the remote’s left, right, up, and down navigation buttons do not function within the MyWhoosh Application. Instead, the slider must be used to move the highlighter over items to select them.
- Forgot Password Button: There is currently no functionality observed upon tapping the forgot password button in the Login UI.
- Steering Functionality: Steering controls are not available in the tvOS MyWhoosh application.
- Device Connection UI Visibility: The Device Connection UI may appear in the background of the Main Menu UI during a fresh launch. This issue typically does not recur after the initial occurrence.
- Non-functional Links: The ‘Privacy Notice’ & ‘Terms & Conditions’ links are currently inoperative.
- Selection Difficulty in Workout/Event UI: Users are unable to select a workout or event immediately upon entering the UI. Moving the highlighter back and forth is required to select the desired option.
- Highlighter Disappearance: On certain UI elements, the highlighter may disappear or move to the background. Sliding it slowly for a while may bring it back to the visible UI.
- Remote Keyboard Issues: Users cannot open the keyboard on an iPhone or iPad when connected as a remote in the MyWhoosh application.
- Double Click Action: The system may register double-click actions for a single click action occasionally.
